VIPS provides training, organizational support and technical expertise which allows local agencies to harness the skill and enthusiasm of their community volunteers. Skilled volunteers serve as force multipliers and as community ambassadors both of which are vital in helping keep communities safe and secure.

Training Program
The VIPS Program offers training for law enforcement representatives interested in starting a volunteer program and for volunteer managers from established law enforcement volunteer programs.

Technical Assistance Program
The VIPS Technical Assistance (TA) Program offers a range of no-cost, site-specific technical assistance to state and local law enforcement agencies, providing them with tools and guidance to develop and maintain successful volunteer programs.

Mentor Program
The VIPS Mentor Program pairs law enforcement volunteer coordinators in need of support with experienced volunteer coordinators in order to provide tools and guidance to develop and maintain successful volunteer programs. There is no cost to participate in the Mentor Program.
