Early in the formation of our program we attended a VIPS training seminar in Dallas, TX. It was there that we found direction, guidance, mentorship and a clear direction for program development. The fact is if it weren’t for the national VIPS Program, our program would not be anywhere near what it is today.

Building Blocks of a Law Enforcement Volunteer Program

Law enforcement volunteer programs vary by agency but the principles in their foundation are universal. This introductory course teaches attendees how to implement a volunteer program within a law enforcement agency. Participants will come away with a greater understanding of the importance of program infrastructure, recruitment, selection and management, training, recognition, and assessment. These building blocks will resonate with agencies just starting out with volunteers.

Who Should Attend

Law enforcement volunteer coordinator or agency representative tasked with the development and implementation of a volunteer program.
